The Career Visions Alliance is a collaborative located in the Western End of San Bernardino County and dedicated to the purpose of economic development and workforce preparation.  It was established in September of 1993 and is comprised of all stakeholders who are interested in preparing a well trained workforce.  One of the strategic programs that carry out the mission and goals of Career Visions is Tech Prep.

The Tech Prep Consortium is composed of Chaffey College, Chaffey Joint Union High School District, Chino Valley, Fontana, Upland, and Claremont Unified School Districts, Baldy View Regional Occupational Program [ROP], business, industry, public, and private agencies.  This partnership allows students the opportunity to advance in their chosen careers, and earn college credit through articulation agreements.

Tech Prep programs in California focus on the integration and articulation of curricular pathways among secondary and post secondary programs.  The Tech Prep program provides academic and vocational preparation in identified career pathways.  Tech Prep students begin their program of study in a secondary institution and then transition into a post secondary institution to earn an advanced technical degree or certificate. Career pathways are academically rigorous and provide students with the fundamental skills that are required for post secondary admission and the technical skills that will enable them to have successful careers in California’s new, highly technical economy.
