I. Career Pathway Implementation

Articulation Council

The Articulation Council meets twice a year to discuss courses that are being offered through the area high schools, adult schools and community college and to ensure unnecessary non-duplication of programs.  The council also oversees and supports articulation agreements between the high schools and community college.

II. Workforce Development

In a response to the needs of the communities served by the collaborative the Workforce Development Team has developed two distinct sub groups.

Job Developers
Members of the Job Developers group help identify and recruit businesses, promote and provide educational opportunities to ensure a well-trained, well-paid workforce and share information regarding job opportunities.  Members represent a wide range of agencies including state and county employment services, educational institutions, cities, community services, and private enterprise.  Job Developers meet monthly.

West End Workforce Opportunity Resource Committee (WE-WORC)
The purpose of the WE-WORC group is to coordinate and facilitate economic and workforce development efforts between employers, government agencies and job training providers to assure that workforce skill sets are current and match employers’ expectations.  Members in the group include decision makers from state and county employment services, educational institutions and city government. WE-WORC meets monthly.

III. Marketing and Outreach

Each year, other members of the community are invited to attend a joint meeting of Career Visions to share information regarding their programs and services as well as their needs and concerns as they relate to Career Visions activities, which are targeted to address common issues, enhance knowledge and awareness and promote participation.
